BBG Assessment provides the highest quality property, environmental and engineering reports on a national basis.
Our work arms clients with insight needed to make informed decisions about financial investments, to identify and mitigate risk and to maximize value. We strive to meet the needs of each client with a commitment to providing a high quality product produced in a timely manner.
Report scopes include commercial and investment banks, CMBS lenders, life insurance companies, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and HUD. All services are performed on a national basis.

Service Leadership

Ms. Doerner has over 15 years of experience in the environmental and engineering due diligence industry. As the Executive Managing Director of Operations for BBG Assessment, Ms. Doerner is responsible for the development and implementation of operational processes to drive sustainable growth across BBG’s assessment service line. She oversees the workflow process and is responsible for creating and implementing staff performance and quality evaluations to ensure a consistent, high quality report is delivered every time. With over 10 years dedicated to supporting commercial real estate clients in NYC, Ms. Doerner has been able to use her prior experience to develop procedures that streamline the due diligence process. She has created processes that enhance the customer’s ability to obtain salient data and details quickly so that informed decisions can be made.

Peter is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of California with broad experience in commercial real estate. Peter has over 20 years of experience in all phases of engineering and construction principles, practices and management. He has expertise in the traditional environment of general construction, as well as real estate finance. He has demonstrated success integrating project management skills with risk recognition and liability management. He successfully developed and implemented project controls and due diligence policy guidelines in support of commercial real estate lending and acquisitions. He has technically assessed real estate assets valued in excess of $100 billion throughout the US, Caribbean, and Western Europe. He possesses strong technical and business qualifications. He has successfully integrated his hands-on experience in operations with strategic and financial planning. He has developed several cost-effective solutions for enhancing competitiveness, increasing revenues, and improving customer service.
Specialties include commercial real estate due diligence services, including Property Condition Assessments; other advisory services including valuation; lease abstract and construction draw inspection and project review/ cost constructability reviews and cost to complete estimates.

Evans Howell, MS, REPA, serves as BBG Executive Managing Director. In this role, he oversees the ongoing strategic growth of BBG’s multiple business lines and ensure continued high-quality and consistent delivery of bundled services to clients, with a focus on portfolio-related processes and systems.
Bringing a wealth of experience in the real estate due diligence field, Evans has managed numerous due diligence projects and portfolios for clients including investors, equity funds, insurers, commercial mortgage-backed securities, HUD, FHA, and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lenders.
Before joining BBG, Evans served as an Executive Vice President at AEI Consultants, a commercial environmental real estate and consulting firm, where he was responsible for managing the largest revenue producing team consisting of Agency and CMBS clients as well as Energy Green Services within the company.
Earlier in his career, Evans held senior-level positions at various companies including Land America Financial Group, Partner Engineering and Science, Inc., and National Assessment Corp. His technical background also includes work as an environmental scientist and hydrogeologist.

Blaine Bauman has more than 25 years of broad-based environmental consulting and building sciences experience in the environmental and engineering industries. He is an Environmental Professional as well as Property Condition Assessment Specialist, responsible for the execution of environmental and engineering due diligence services for major financial institutions.
As an extension of Property Assessment services, Mr. Bauman has been trained in LEED New Construction and Existing Building Rating Systems, as well as green/sustainable, high-performance building construction implementation strategies. Other areas of expertise include information systems development and management, computer-aided drafting and design, civil site development, and retail gasoline station development.

Joseph Bonifacio, AIA, LEED AP
Senior Managing Director - Building Services
Joseph is currently a Senior Managing Director for BBG working out of the New York office. He oversees BBG’s Property Condition Assessment Group which provides inspection and assessment services for banks, agency lenders, investment banks, life companies, and property owners. Services include facilities planning, property condition assessments, budget reviews, specialty inspections, and peer reviews of exiting due diligence reports.
He has more than 26 years of professional practice as an Architect involved in all phases of design, construction, and building assessments. This includes facilities planning, building evaluations and inspections, cost estimating, and construction oversight and administration.
He has over 12 years of experience dedicated to the real estate due diligence industry performing in a variety of capacities, ranging from overseeing BBG’s PCA team, to managing individual client programs, to performing quality control reviews of reports, to serving as a technical resource. He has also self- performed hundreds of property condition assessments and building inspections. He currently manages and oversees BBG’s quality control review staff and the field assessment staff nationwide.
The properties he has evaluated have included multifamily, retail, office, warehouse, and self-storage, industrial, and hospitality facilities. He is experienced in assessing site improvements, building structures and envelopes, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and fire/life safety systems for evidence of deferred maintenance or problematic or deleterious materials.
He also is involved in developing and advancing the overall team and implementing strategic initiatives to further insure successful client outcomes.

Christopher Stang, PG
Senior Managing Director Environmental Services
Mr. Christopher Stang is a Professional Geologist (PG) with more than 18 years of experience in the environmental and due diligence consulting industry. He has conducted Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) for a wide range of local and national clients, including banks, agency lenders, investment banks, life companies, law firms and property owners. The properties he has evaluated have included multifamily residential, retail, office, industrial and hospitality facilities.
Mr. Stang has conducted or reviewed hundreds of ESAs in accordance with ASTM E1527, the USEPA All Appropriate Inquiry rules, Fannie Mae Delegated Underwriting Standards, Freddie Mac guidelines and other client specific scopes of work. Based on his experience and education, he meets the definition of an Environmental Professional as defined in §312.10 of 40 CFR 312. His environmental background includes a detailed understanding of the risks associated with hazardous and regulated materials storage, use generation and disposal, above ground and underground storage tanks and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), as well as the ASTM non-scope considerations of asbestos, lead-based paint, radon and microbial growth. Mr. Stang has also managed and performed many remedial invitation (RI) site assessments at sites across the county and has also conducted site remediation activities including implementing free product removal, groundwater pump and treat, soil venting, bio-sparging technologies, in situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) via sub-surface injection or soil blending, and air-sparge/soil vapor extraction.
Mr. Stang’s technical experience includes geologic and hydrogeologic aspects of subsurface investigations associated with contaminant migration at petrochemical, chlorinated solvent and hazardous waste sites. Mr. Stang has performed multiple vapor intrusion assessments and his experience also includes recovery and monitor well installation; aquifer testing, including slug tests and pump tests, groundwater remediation and design; vapor, soil, water, industrial waste stream sampling and geophysical surveys with the government and private sectors.
