Moorman, MAI, SRA, AI-GRS as Senior Managing Director of National Compliance and Quality Assurance. Moorman’s extensive industry expertise and his strong leadership skills will further support BBG’s mission to provide exemplary services that meet the needs of its clients.
Moorman’s appointment will greatly broaden BBG’s leadership position in providing its clients with highly specialized and comprehensive valuation and assessment services in the commercial real estate sector. In his new role, Moorman, who will be based in Houston, will lead and centralize the management of the firm’s Compliance and Quality Assurance team, along with a number of strategic initiatives designed to improve processes related to quality control and general compliance.
Moorman has held several senior-level positions with Texas real estate companies and financial institutions since he began his career in the early ’80s, which included work on all types of real estate, business appraisal, litigation support and real estate instruction. His portfolio of assignments include health-care facilities, retail shopping centers and stores, office buildings, multifamily properties, senior and family residential housing, manufacturing and industrial-use buildings, pipeline and highway right-of-way condemnation, subdivision analysis, and raw land.
Prior to joining BBG, Moorman served as Chief Appraiser and Senior Vice President at Prosperity Bank, where he oversaw the bank’s appraisal department. Earlier, he was the Senior Director at Cushman & Wakefield of Texas, Collateral Appraiser and Vice President at Wells Fargo Real Estate Technical Services, and President of RLM Financial Group. He also held executive positions in lending and appraisal departments at First Savings Association, First National Bank of Navasota, and Brenham National Bank.
Moorman is actively involved in the professional development of real estate appraisers. He is currently the President of the Houston Chapter of the Appraisal Institute, an instructor and director on the national board of the Appraisal institute and an AQB certified USPAP instructor. He is also a former lecturer at Texas A&M University’s Department of Finance.
